The heart behind Zion Shorthairs
Behind every great dog is a story, and mine began long before I ever dreamed of building a program. I fell in love with German Shorthairs through their honesty, heart, and the way they live every day with a kind of intensity only found in this breed. What started as admiration quickly grew into a passion for preserving everything that makes this breed extraordinary; instinctive intelligence, athleticism, biddability, and a deep devotion to their people.

I am committed to ethically breeding, transparent communication, lifelong support, and constantly learning to better serve this breed. My goal is simple: to produce dogs that make you proud, not just in the moments that win ribbons or titles, but in the quiet, everyday moments that truly define a great dog.
My name is Erin, and I am the owner and driving force behind this program. My lifelong dedication to dogs began in childhood, growing up in a professional grooming salon where I gained firsthand experience in canine care, behavior, and handling. This early immersion developed into a full-time career in the grooming industry and later expanded into owning and operating a dog-gear company. Dogs have been at the center of my personal and professional life for as long as I can remember, and that passion continues to guide everything I do.
In addition to my work with dogs, I bring extensive experience from the equine industry. My background with horses has provided a valuable and complementary skill set, as the principles of communication, consistency, and behavioral understanding in horse training closely parallel those in canine training. This cross-disciplinary knowledge allows me to approach each dog with a well-rounded perspective and a deeper appreciation for individual learning styles.
Together, these experiences inform the standards, methods, and care that define this program, and they reflect my commitment to providing dogs, and their owners, with exceptional guidance and support.
